SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine, in particular to a method for thorascopic access to the pleural cavity for diagnostic studies and surgical interventions on the organs of the chest cavity in cats and dogs. The method is characterized by the use of video endoscopic equipment, a trocar, a flexible endoscope with a working channel and fiber optics. At the same time, the animal is placed on the operating table, general anesthesia of the animal is performed, the oral cavity is prepared for surgical intervention, and transoral access is performed. The trocar is placed in the oral cavity, the thoracoport is placed under the tongue, an incision is made with a blade in the sublingual region lateral to the hyoid frenulum, the trocar is installed in the incision, the trocar is inserted along the cartilages of the larynx, trachea, ventral mediastinum, vascular formations are visualized, when the endoscope is advanced, the border of the neck and ventral mediastinum is visually controlled, the trocar advances under the skin outside, during the passage of the endoscope into the chest cavity, the trocar is advanced to the tracheal bifurcation, guided by the transtissue visualization of the tracheal cartilage. Further, mediastinal tissues are dissected with an endoscopic instrument and the parietal mediastinal pleura is visualized, the pleura is punctured with a manipulator and a flexible endoscope is inserted into the pleural cavity, the pleural cavity is examined or surgical manipulations are performed.

EFFECT: use of the invention will reduce the risk of postoperative complications.
