FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention serves to increase service life of working roll of finishing stands of broad-strip rolling mills wherein ID of F3-F7 finishing stand drive clutches is smaller than that of F1-P2 clutches. Proposed roll is produced by two-layer spun or static casting and has two-layer body, its outer layer having wear resistant coat of high-chromium cast iron with layer thickness D-to-outer surface radius R ratio making 0.10-0.15, journals and wobbles. Note here that wobbles feature different diametres, larger OD of one wobble corresponding to larger ID of drive clutch of the first and second finishing stand, while OD of smaller wobble corresponding to larger ID of drive clutch of the next finishing stands. Note also that roll operation comprises alternating run in stand F1 or F2 with regrinding and, after reaching final diametre set by stand design, rearranging the roll in stand F3 or F4 so that smaller diametre wobble corresponds to drive clutch of said stands to operation till final diametre set by design of said stands or roll flexural stiffness.

EFFECT: roll longer life and simplified rearrangement.
