FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed process comprises removal of roll from mill stand, temperature measurement, grinding with shaping in smooth concaved generatrix with allowance for thermal correction to preset concavity to said generatrix, feed of lubricant-coolant to rolls and fitting of rolls in the stand. Thermal correction before grinding is specified by mathematical relationship that sets the number of finishing stand whereat said roll is used. Note here that specific lubricant-coolant flow rate is set equal to 1-8 l/min.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and quality.
