FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of potassium titanate powder used as an antifriction additive to lubricant and organic polymer materials. Potassium titanate powder consists of layered submicrometer particles with a lamellar shape. The potassium titanate particles are intercalated at least by one nonionic, cationic or anionic surfactant, whose molecules are also grafted on the surface of potassium titanate particles. The nonionic surfactant used is oxyethylated alkylphenol or oxyethylated alcohol, the cationic surfactant used is cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, and the anionic surfactant is sodium alkylbenzene sulphonate or sodium alkylsuphate.

EFFECT: invention improves tribological properties by reducing friction coefficient of potassium titanate powder, increasing mobility of layers, reducing agglomeration capacity of separate particles.
