FIELD: composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical, automotive, mechanical engineering, and textile industries and can be used in manufacture of anti-friction additives to lubricating materials for rolling and sliding friction units. The nanocomposite material based on potassium titanate consists of layered particles of potassium titanate of a scaly shape of a submicronic size, decorated with nanoparticles of a carbonate form of layered hydroxide containing copper, zinc and aluminium at a molar ratio of 1:1:1, wherein the excess content of at least one of the above metals over the rest is no more than 10%. The potassium titanate particles are additionally modified with a nonionic surface-active substance, wherein oxyethylated alkylphenol is taken as said substance.
EFFECT: invention provides a possibility of improving the tribological properties of lubricating compositions containing potassium titanate powder, namely, reducing the friction coefficient, increasing the wear resistance of rubbing surfaces, critical load, and welding load.
