FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing hydrophobic or partially hydrophobic active protein is described. The method involves the stages of interaction of active water-soluble protein and an agent able to convert one or more hydrophilic amino acid residues to hydrophobic residues. An active centre responsible for protein activity is protected by a hydrophobisation reaction in a homogeneous mixture of solvents of various polarities. Protein produced by the described method is presented. Presented is a method of producing a device comprising a monomolecular layer of oriented active protein immobilised on a solid substrate, involving the stage of interaction of presented protein and a hydrophobic solid substrate; said device is applicable in diagnostic, genetic, immunologic, medical, industrial and research analyses for mechanical manipulations with protein or a genetic material or for producing micromatrixes, and also the device produced by said method.

EFFECT: invention allows producing hydrophobised water-soluble hydrophilic functional proteins without changing their natural function that gives possibility to scan, form images and manipulate water-soluble proteins.
