FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in producing hollow forgings by forging at forging press four-hammer forging device. Hollow billet if heated to deformation temperature and mandrel is fitted therein. Billet is forged in one or several passes. Forging is performed by four hammers at a time with transverse shearing in each single reduction. After every single reduction the billet is fed for magnitude s and canted through α=5-30° in one peripheral direction with the following ratios obeyed:δ/do = 0.015 - 0.400, s/do = 0.05 - 0.80, where: δ is reduction in forging in each pass, do is OD before forging in each pass.
EFFECT: higher accuracy.
