FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used for forging hollow round parts from various steels, alloys and nonferrous metals at four-hammer hydraulic forge.Taper arbor is fitted in billet cavity with clearance. Note here that billet bore diameter-to arbor diameter is kept equal to 1.03-2.0. Forging is made in two steps. At first step, billet is reduced to contact of its inner surface with arbor surface. At second step, billet parts on arbor are subjected to plastic strain. In every reduction, arbor is displaced downward so that its axis is shifted as much as billet lengthwise axis does. For this, arbor is arranged to displace along and across billet lengthwise axis. Every hammer has gaging section and lead section adjoining the former at 130-180°. Hammer width does not exceed 0.9 of arbor working surface width.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and reliability, longer life, higher quality of forging.
