FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices intended for producing data base for particular indications of certain developing defects, faults and damages of wheel pair axle boxes. Proposed test bench comprises wheel pair with preselected defect or fault or damage of axle box mounted on rolling machine, control unit with its one output connected to input of rolling machine operating condition selector, and acoustic signal receiver arranged in box. Receiver sensitive element is arranged level with wheel pair axle box. One side of aforesaid box facing wheel pair is provided with shutter that has opening mechanism arranged in said box and having its control input connected to relevant input of control unit. Test bench comprises also acoustic signal amplified, ADC, correction unit, amplitude detector, spectrum converter, averaging unit, and data processing unit with keyboard to input defect name. Averaging unit inputs are connected to spectrum detector and converter, while its output is connected via processing unit to data base. Acoustic signal receiver output is connected to amplifier input. Control unit output is connected to another input of correction unit.

EFFECT: accurate definition of specific indications of defects, faults or damages.
