FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for fabrication of composite cathode consists in preparation of powder mixture, in blank compression, and in successive sintering in vacuum. Also, powder mixture is prepared out of powders of titanium and an alloying component chosen from a group: copper, silicon, at the following ratio of the components, wt %: alloying component chosen from the group copper, silicon - 2.0-30.0; titanium - the rest. Dispersion of source powders is 40-120 mcm. Blanks are compressed to porosity from 15 to 20 %. The vacuum furnace is heated to temperature of blank sintering at rate of 2-3 degr/min. Blanks are sintered in vacuum in the range of temperature 1000-1250°C. Under temperature of sintering the blanks are isothermally conditioned for 1-3 hours.
EFFECT: reduced power expenditures for production of cathode; simplified process of ion-plasma treatment.
