PULSE GENERATOR Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC H02M9/02 H03K3/53

Abstract RU 2421872 C1

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: pulse generator refers to high-voltage pulse equipment and can be used namely for feeding geophysic dipoles, solenoids with various amount of stored energy, for test of power transformers by their being loaded with kiloammeter currents of long duration, for test of measuring elements, for feeding stationary and mobile transmission antenna with power of ~1 MW, etc. Pulse generator includes shaper made in the form of at least one cascade with the first and the second output terminals, closing diode with n-steps, each of which includes voltage source; at that, voltage source of the previous step is in-series connected to voltage source of the next step through controlled commutator; besides, each of the steps is shunted with diode reverse connected in relation to polarity of voltage source, and inductive integrator is connected between output of controlled commutator of the last step and the first output terminal and it consists of smoothing inductor and capacitor; output pulse parameter control circuit is parallel connected to output terminals of each cascade; in each next step, starting from the first one, there has been used voltage source with potential difference which is more by 2 times than source voltage of the previous step, and the circuit controlling the state of each voltage source is parallel connected to it; at that, the circuit protecting each controlled commutator against pulse overvoltage is parallel connected to outputs of each controlled commutator, and closing diode is parallel connected to outputs of smoothing inductor and reverse in relation to their polarity.

EFFECT: higher reproduction accuracy, enlarging the range of control of output pulse parametres and increasing operational life of the main assemblies.
