FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to short-arc welding. In compliance with proposed method, intermittently varied electric arc intermittently short-circuited by molten drop 22 from weld wire 20 is generated between weld wire 20 and weld material 21. Each welding cycle consists of short-circuit cycle 14 and arc cycle 15. Short-circuit phase 12, 14 and arc phase 14 comprises high current pulse periods 5, 10 and low current periods 2, 7, 12, 16. Current drop period is formed at termination of each short-circuit phase 14.
EFFECT: optimised welding conditions due to minimised metal splashes.
