FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: there is measured first characteristic parameter and it is compared with specified value. Also, there are continuously measured time intervals corresponding to a turn of a crankshaft to adjacent and equal angular intervals of specified value per cycle of engine operation under any set speed mode. Beginning of measurement is synchronised with the same stroke of operation cycle of a certain cylinder. There are determined values of crankshaft speed within the ranges of each angular interval and there is obtained dependency of shaft speed from angle of turn of the crankshaft. Further, there are established coefficients of non-uniformity of crankshaft rotation within the limits of cycle of engine operation and period of torque change. Obtained coefficients are used as a characteristic parameter. The characteristic parameter is measured under load generated with a suspended transmission of the vehicle connected to the engine. Also, gear is set down is a gear box of the vehicle to receive more stable results. Operability of a piston-cylinder unit of each cylinder is established by finding time of mixture combustion in each cylinder of the engine Tri during several cycles of engine operation. There is found the second characteristic parameter corresponding to time of mixture combustion in each cylinder . It is compared with reference δref, determined in a faultless engine. At meeting condition δri-δref≤0.01 the given piston-cylinder unit is considered operable, otherwise it is considered as faulty.
EFFECT: raised effectiveness of evaluation.
