FIELD: diagnosis of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: process consists in measurement of rotational speed of crankshaft at which time intervals corresponding to turn of crankshaft through adjacent and equal angular intervals of specified value are measured for cycle of engine operation under any steady-state condition with synchronization of start of measurement by one and same clock period of operation of certain cylinder. Value of rotational speed of crankshaft within limits of each angular interval is determined, dependence of rotational speed on turning angle of crankshaft is obtained. Coefficients of irregularity of rotation of crankshaft within operational cycle of engine and period of change of torque are determined. Technical condition of engine is evaluated by obtained results. EFFECT: improved authenticity of evaluation. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
