FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to weapons and equipment and may be used for producing armored helmets from polymer composite materials. Proposed method of producing armored helmet comprising ballistic shell includes using mandrel made in the form of elliptic cylinder closed on its faces by semi-ellipsoids of rotation with smooth transition of surface thanks to generating ellipsoids of semi-ellipsoids are guide ellipsoids of cylinders. Layers of perform for shells of two helmets are wound in coils impregnated with synthetic binder for bundles from aramide threads in revolving aforesaid mandrel. For this, mandrel is provided with journals, the rotational axis located in crosswise plane of mandrel symmetry aligned with smaller axis of symmetry of cylinder guide ellipsoid, while layer edges are made with bulges resulted from overlapping of bundles in reducing winding radius. Note here that edges of bulges of three layers maximum are made with pole holes on journal aligned. Said layers are wound in coils located in one plane, each coil in contact with both journals and contact points being uniformly distributed along line of intersection of journal surface with mandrel surface due to variation of plane angle and its angle unless entire surface of mandrel is coated by bundles. Armored helmet comprises inner helmet with headsets and ballistic shell with inner surface represents semi-ellipsoid of rotation with smooth transition into elliptic cylinder confined by frontal and occipital section edges, and recesses in shell to receive aforesaid headsets. Shell is made up of layers impregnated with synthetic binder for bundles, layer edges being made with bulges resulted from overlapping of bundles in reducing winding radius. Note here that edges of bulges of three layers maximum are made aligned with headsets recesses. Said layers are wound in coils located in one plane, each coil in contact with both journals and contact points being uniformly distributed along line of intersection of journal surface with mandrel surface due to variation of plane angle and its angle unless entire surface of mandrel is coated by bundles.
