FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: method of armour insert 1 manufacturing involves winding of ballistic spiral plait layers 7 out of hollow glass fibre impregnated with elastic synthetic binding agent in both directions within work area 4 on mandrel 3 with two symmetrical longitudinal grooves 5 extended beyond the mandrel work area 4 and filled with easy destructible material 6. Compensating fabric layers 8 are laid. Bars 9 out of easy destructible material are mounted above grooves 5. Bars are attached to the mandrel outside of work area 4. Ceramic armour screen shell rings 11 are laid with their flat side edges close to bars 9, and splinter-proof layers 13 are bound on the shell rings to press shell rings 11 to bars 9 and compensating layers 8. The blank undergoes thermal processing and cutting along bars 9, weld burrs are cut off in flush, and edges are modelled by U-profile out of material. Armour inserts 1 include ballistic layers 7 of semispiral plaits of both directions out of hollow glass fibre impregnated with elastic synthetic binding agent, compensating fabric layers 8 out of hollow glass fibre impregnated with similar binding agent, ceramic armour screen shell rings 11, splinter-proof layers 13 placed over the shell rings and similar to ballistic layers 7. Side edges are formed with high precision for gapless contact of flat edges during armour insert 1 alignment by the external surface.
EFFECT: enhanced processability and quality of armour inserts.
