METHOD OF ESTIMATING WALKING PARAMETERS IN PATIENTS WITH SYNDROME OF CEREBELLAR ATAXIA Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B5/103

Abstract RU 2423914 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field o9f medicine and is intended for diagnostics of walking disturbances in patients with syndrome of cerebellar ataxia. Preliminarily before registration on the region of examined person's chest on the front fixed is light-reflecting plate with generator of infra-red radiation, on soles fixed are current-conducting contacts. Examined person is placed on current-conducting walk, on which they start movement towards laser range finder. During the phase of double support of walking closure of circuit occurs, generator emits short light pulses in infra-red range with duration 10 mcs, which are received by photoreceiver, electronic device switches on laser range finder for measurement of distance between laser range finder and examined person. Obtained parameters are transmitted via interface Bluetooth into personal computer, whose software records data on distance measurement and its time into electronic tables Exel. During analysis parameter of step length is determined as difference of distances between successive positions of examined person, and time - as difference of time of successive measurements.

EFFECT: method extends arsenal of means for estimation of walking parameters in patients with syndrome of cerebellar ataxia.
