FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used in abrasive processing, primarily, at automatic production lines. Part and grinding wheel are rotated, the latter being periodically dressed by dressing roller. In grinding, dressing roller reciprocated to allow cyclic variation in area of contact between roller and wheel when roller comes in and out of contact with wheel. Dressing cycle duration is set subject to wheel grinding capacity controlled by tolerable thresholds of sound pressure originating in grinding and dressing. Maximum threshold of sound pressure corresponds to wheel grinding capacity loss time while minimum threshold corresponds to wheel recovery time. Said thresholds are preset in grinding reference parts with due allowance for efficiency and quality.
EFFECT: reduced consumption of grinding wheels and dressing tool wear.
