FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal-working and may be used in automotive industry and production of bearings for automatic dressing of grinding wheels over face surfaces at specialised NC grinders. In compliance with proposed method, abrasive removal depth is adjusted by amplitude of sound signals recorded at every pass of dressing tool generated by sound pressure sensors. Sad sensors are arranged directly nearby end faces of face grinding wheels. Note here that dressing interval is limited by setting of amplitude of sound signals selected before dressing by pre-dressed face-grinding wheels so that required dressing capacity and quality are ensured.
EFFECT: decreased consumption of grinding wheels in dressing, faster process.
