SUBSTANCE: external member for drilling equipment with upper hammer consists of cavity with cylinder or conic internal thread and stop ledge. Also, depth of a thread groove successively diminishes in the direction to a thread end defined with a boundary line separating a bottom of the groove from cylinder or conic surface formed between the boundary line and the ledge. Said surface coincides with height of thread profile or the groove bottom. The procedure for fabrication of the external member consists in stages of continuous feed of a turning tool in a lengthwise direction to the cavity of a machined member, in actuating the tool into reciprocal travel between radial external and internal end positions to cut thread of required profile and in successive reducing difference of radii to zero for finish of a thread groove at gradually decreasing depth at a final stage.
EFFECT: increased mechanical strength of connection.
