FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves calcination of an initial mixture containing zinc sulphide ZnS, sulphur S, ammonium chloride NH4Cl, with addition of a copper activator in form of copper chloride CuCl at temperature 950°C for 90 minutes in quartz crucibles, followed by grinding and sieving the desired product, wherein before calcination, the initial mixture of the powdered electroluminescent material undergoes plasma treatment through exposure to plasma of different plasma-supporting gases.
EFFECT: invention increases photoluminescent brightness of electroluminescent material, and electroluminescent brightness owing to increase in solubility of copper in zinc sulphide.
