FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and can be used in making electroluminescent panels for emergency and decorative lighting. First, a charge is prepared from zinc sulphide, sulphur, an activator – nanosized copper oxide with particle size of not more than 80 nm, as well as ammonium chloride, into which sodium chloride and lithium carbonate are additionally introduced. Then, nanohybridisation treatment of the obtained mixture is carried out in a high-speed air flow at speed of 1,000-10,000 rpm for 1-5 minutes. At the end of the nanohybridization treatment, the powder is sieved and calcined in an alundum crucible at temperature of 1,150±10 °C for 30 minutes in the presence of coconut activated carbon. End product – zinc sulphide electroluminescent material of composition ZnS:Cu, Cl, is sieved.
EFFECT: invention increases brightness of electroluminescence by 200% at low-voltage excitation of 100-110 V and 400 Hz due to formation of conducting layers of copper sulphide with thickness of not more than 400 nm on the surface of zinc sulphide.
