FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: initial mixture containing zinc sulphide, sulphur, ammonium chloride and copper activator CuCl undergoes radiation modification through exposure to a beam of accelerated electrons with energy 900 keV and absorbed dose 200-1000 kGy or gamma rays with energy 1250 keV and absorbed dose 200-600 kGy. The processed mixture is then calcined at 950±10°C for 90 minutes in quartz crucibles followed by grinding, sieving and annealing the obtained semi-product on air at 650±10°C for 60 minutes and then grinding and sieving the end product.
EFFECT: invention increases electroluminescent brightness of zinc sulphide electroluminescent material compared with the existing method without radiation treatment.
