FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering. Material containing zinc sulphide, sulphur, ammonium halides and an activator additive in form of copper or copper with aluminium is roasted at 600-1100°C for 10-60 minutes. The end product is then crushed and screened. The obtained powder undergoes further electron-beam treatment by applying a beam of electrons accelerated to energy of 900 keV with absorbed dose of 25-75 kGy.
EFFECT: invention increases electroluminescent brightness of the powdered zinc sulphide electroluminescent material by 40% without growth of its particles and/or improvement of its crystallinity.
