FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for measurement of levels of melt of metals and electrolyte in electrolyser for production of aluminium consists in determination of position of base of anode relative to flange sheet of electrolyser by positioning working element of measuring device for melt level under anode, in pressing it to anode base, and in successive transfer of measuring device into horizontal position. Also, position of the anode base is determined by means of a level gauge and a ruler. The level of melt metal is determined as difference of position of the anode base relative to the flange sheet of the electrolyser and between-pole distance of anode. The level of electrolyte melt is determined as sum of value of immersion of the working element of the measuring device into metal melt and between-pole distance of anode minus level of metal melt.
EFFECT: low errors at measuring levels of metal and electrolyte in electrolyser for aluminium production.
