FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: shock absorber (101) for furniture, in particular, for hinged joints, with a body (102, 202), where a piston (104) is installed with the possibility of displacement, connected with a stem (103, 203), besides, fluid medium in process of the piston movement (104, 204) inside the body (102, 202) flows along a flow channel (120) in/on the piston (104, 204), besides, as the piston (104) moves in various directions, a different damping force is generated, and cross section of the flow channel (120) at certain sections varies due to the fact that the piston is able to move relative to the plate (106, 206), differing by the fact that the plate (106, 206) and/or the piston (104, 204) have radial passing grooves (160), forming at least a part of the flow channel (120), besides, at one side of the body (102) there is a moving balancing piston (107,111) provided, which is tightly inserted between the body (102) and the stem (103), besides, the balancing piston has a seal (107), which with its external sealing edge (112) adjoins the body (102), and with its internal sealing edge (113) it adjoins the stem (103).

EFFECT: shock absorber reliable in operation and with the possibility of a comparatively accurate adjustment in compliance with the purpose of usage.
