FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for determination of density of natural gas transported via gas pipeline consists in sampling natural gas from gas pipeline. Also, the procedure consists in passage of sample through a special measuring channel containing volume flow rate metre of gas and a rotametre. Density of natural gas is determined by means of the rotametre preliminary calibrated with gases of known density by height of float rise at fixed volume flow rate of natural gas. Fixed volume flow rate of natural gas is facilitated by means of controlled valves and the volume flow rate metre of gas.
EFFECT: measurement of most important parameter of transported gas in real time, of its density under operating or standard conditions and reduced error of measurement of flow rate at implementation of flow rate metres in restrictions.
