FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: rotametre-based device for gas flow rat measurement includes two open cylindrical resonator excited at wavelength λ<<D where D is the cylinder diameter; one of the resonators acts as a transducer of density of gas delivered onto the rotametre wiles the other - as a volumetric gas flow rate transducer. The open cylindrical resonators in the form of metal cylinders form part of a pipeline delivering gas onto the rotametre. The open cylindrical resonator acting as a volumetric gas flow rate transducer is matched with the rotametre. For excitation and receipt of oscillations one uses a system of distributed communication between the open cylindrical resonator and the generator and the open cylindrical resonator and the transducer for each resonator.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of gas flow rate measurement, possibility of measurement at small flow rates, possibility of operation under high operational gas pressures.
