FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing adsorptive materials. Opal-cristobalite rock from the Zikeevsk deposit and tripoli undergo hydrolysis in hot alkaline solution containing K3[Al(OH)6]. After hydrolysis, the suspension mixture is put into a sealed reactor and held at temperature 150°C for 5 hours, diluted with water, treated with sulphuric acid solution and dried.
EFFECT: high sorption capacity, improved ion-exchange properties, selectivity with respect to calcium and magnesium salts, heavy metal cations (Cd, Cu, Zn, Co), as well as 137Cs radionuclides.
