The method of obtaining a 3D model of the surface of an object involves digitisation of the surface of the object and constructing its model. The model of the surface is constructed through step-by-step or layer-by-layer photographing using digital equipment through an optical microscope, after which a sharpness zone is determined on each layer by comparing numerical values of image pixels, and the results are used to construct an altitude map and colour map of the surface. The model of the surface is assembled using a graphics editor.

EFFECT: possibility of constructing a 3D model surface of fracture, the height of roughness of which is greater than the depth of field of the device.
