FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: use of synthetic pesticides leads to saturation of the biosphere with substances which are toxic to humans, farm animals and useful flora and fauna. Regular application of toxic chemicals increases the pesticide-resistant population of pests and pathogens, which results in the need to increase the dosage and frequency of application in order to overcome the resistance of the pests to the toxic chemicals. The effectiveness of plant protection continuously drops and pesticide residue in agricultural products increases, which, upon falling into the human body, violates the safety of food and live of the individual. The method of determining hexachlorobenzene involves extraction of a soil sample using an organic solvent after grinding. The solvent used is o-xylene (25 ml of extraction agent/10 g of soil) and determination is carried out using gas chromatography.

EFFECT: high selectivity of extraction, low detection threshold, shorter duration of extraction, simple process of gas chromatographic determination.
