FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: according to the method, screen matrix is periodically scanned, colour signal of each matrix element is transformed, which belongs to a complete colour palette of video material, into a signal, which codes the according colour with an order number i, which belongs to a specified limited colour palette from N basic colours, and at the same time a signal is sent into the i counter from a group of N counters. On completion of video material the signal of sum of each of N counters is transformed into a signal of percentage content of appropriate colour of limited colour palette in the whole video material. On the basis of the last produced N signals a colour histogram is built, printed and copied, and then glued onto a case of video material carrier, and it is inserted into the analysed video material in digital format on the video material carrier, and also into the electronic base of colour certification of video materials.
EFFECT: provision of demonstration of video material colour content.
