SUBSTANCE: present disclosure generally relates to a method of encoding a colour image of a high dynamic range and at least one first colour image of a standard dynamic range, wherein said method comprises encoding a second colour image of a standard dynamic range obtained from an HDR colour image; determining a colour re-display model assembled from a first piecewise linear function, a three-on-three matrix and a second piecewise linear function, from colours of said second colour image of standard dynamic range and colours of said at least one first colour image of standard dynamic range.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of visual quality of decoded colour image.
