FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: device to indicate digital symbols has a power-saving mode of operation. When changing into a power-saving mode, permission voltage is supplied with a level of logical "1" is sent to additional inputs of logical elements AND-NOT of a combined controlled converter of a binary-decimal code into a seven-position and four-position codes, on the basis of which the four-position code signal is formed. At the same time outputs of these logical elements AND-NOT connect to upper (A, B, G, F) elements of seven-segment format of an indicator. Prohibiting voltage with a level of logical "0" is sent to additional inputs of logical elements AND-NOT, where a signal of seven-position code is formed. At the same time outputs of these logical elements disconnect from control of indicator seven-segment format elements. When forming four segment decimal symbols with a reduced format, the average equivalent area of segments differentiation by sign increases without changes in signs brightness.
EFFECT: reduced dimensions and power consumption of an indicator.
