FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. The method of producing tin dioxide involves electrochemical oxidation of tin metal. Oxidation is carried out in sodium chloride solution with concentration of 3-25 wt % with alternating sinusoidal current density of 1.0-3.0 A/cm2 and industrial frequency of 50 Hz and temperature 100°C. The obtained tin dioxide powder is dried at 120°C for 3 hours.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain tin dioxide with high specific surface area.
