FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to glass making, namely, to glass charge preparation directly prior to loading into glass furnace. Proposed mixer comprises horizontal mixing chamber with inlet branch pipe to load charge and glass cullet, water feed and steam feed nozzles. Said chamber has loading, accumulating and unloading zones and accommodates rotor central shaft. Mixer has charge mix and glass cullet discharge hole with magnetic separators arranged there above. Note here that scrapers are fitted on rotor shaft to clear chamber walls and mixing cutters are fitted on shaft in loading and discharge zones, equally spaced along circumference at 90° to said shaft except for second cutter that is arranged at 60° to first cutter (intensive mixing zone). Total width of cutter working surface exceeds the length of their relevant zone by 155 to 30%.
EFFECT: higher quality of glass and reduced power consumption.
