FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: method of balancing steering engine (SE) control unit comprises mounting two thrusts at preset distance from SE control unit plane of symmetry and aligned with SE plungers, displacing movable thrusts to contact with rocker, controlling closing electric circuit by moving thrust and rocker end, moving thrusts apart rocker in direction parallel with plunger axis, setting equal definite clearances between rocker ends and thrusts, creating overload at rocker in control unit plane of symmetry by rotating rotary table, controlling circuit closure by rocker end and varying position of balancing elements barycentre. Prior to bringing two moving thrusts in contact with rocker, shift of point of intersection of SE plunger axis with rocker in response to control signal equivalent to maximum signal of SE dead band is measured. After fixation of circuit closure by rocker end at overload, displacement direction of balancing element barycentres relative to rocker ends is determined. Now, overload is again developed to displace rocker ends in zone of contact with moving thrust by varying position of said barycentres.

EFFECT: easier and efficient balancing.
