METHOD OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF FRACTURES OF MAXILLARY SINUS UPPER WALL Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B17/24 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: maxillary sinuses (MS) are opened. Directly from MS, without penetration into eye socket cavity, soft tissues of eye socket and eye ball are lifted and installed into anatomically correct position. Interposition of soft tissues is eliminated. In accordance with shape and dimensions of upper MS wall, eye socket fragment of dimineralised bone transplant (DBT) is formed, which is introduced and installed into maxillary sinus. DBT is lifted upwards and used to fix affected bone fragments in correct position. Support fragment of DBT is cut out in form of rigid rectangular plate, introduced into sinus and installed to wedge - upper part is set against eye socket fragment, lower - against deepening of MS lower wall. After that horizontal DBT fragment is cut out in form of trapezium-shaped rigid plate, introduced into sinus, setting wide end against support DBT fragment, and narrow one - into lateral sinus bay. Operation is finished by common method.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to eliminate possibility of eye ball and transplant displacement into MS lumen in post-operation period due to rigid fixation of fragments in anatomically correct position.
