METHOD OF TREATING DESTRUCTIONS OF FRONTAL SINUS WALLS Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to otolaryngology, can be applied in treatment of vast fractures of frontal sinus walls and other pathology, accompanied by destruction of said formations and inter-sinus septum. Essence of method lies in external opening of sinuses and formation of facial walls of frontal sinuses. From demineralised bone transplant modeled is prosthesis of inter-sinus septum in form of scalene quadrilateral of irregular shape. Lateral walls of prosthesis copy configuration of brain and facial walls of frontal sinuses. In lower wall of prosthesis formed is cut in form of "swallow tail". Upper wall of prosthesis is made thickened. In it created is through hole through which thread of titanium nickelide is passed. After that prosthesis is introduced into lumen of one of frontal sinuses and lifted upward. After that, it is rested with its upper wall into junction between brain and remains of facial walls. Lower wall is installed on both sides of orifice of fronto-nasal canal of one of frontal sinuses. After that formed facial walls of sinuses are sutured with titanium nickelide thread at distance 10-15 mm. After that threads are tied up above the surface of skin on tubular conductor.

EFFECT: application of claimed invention makes it possible to prevent retraction of frontal area tissues in cases if inter-sinus septum in frontal sinuses is absent and preserve physiological functions of frontal sinuses.
