SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrophilised polydiorganosiloxane vinyl cross-linking agents. Disclosed is a polydiorganosiloxane vinyl crosslinking agent comprising (1) a polydiorganosiloxane polymer chain, containing dimethylsiloxane units and hydrophilised siloxane units, each having one methyl substituent and one substitute, which is a monovalent organic C4-C40-radical containing from two to six hydroxyl groups, wherein molar ratio of hydrophilised siloxane units and dimethylsiloxane units ranges from about 0.035 to about 0.15, and (2) two terminal (meth)acryloyl groups. Hydrophilised polydiorganosiloxane vinyl cross-linking agent is characterized by a number-average molecular weight from about 3000 Da to about 80000 Da. Disclosed also are a silicone-hydrogel contact lens comprising repeating units, obtained from the disclosed polydiorganosiloxane vinyl cross-linking agent, and a method for production thereof.
EFFECT: disclosed hydrophilised polydiorganosiloxane vinyl cross-linking agent enables to obtain silicone-hydrogel contact lenses, combining high oxygen permeability with prolonged thermal stability.
