METHOD OF PRODUCING CHITOSAN-BASED FILMS FOR MEDICAL PURPOSES (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61L15/16 A61L15/28

Abstract RU 2429022 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: described is a method of producing chitosan-based films, involving preparation of a moulding solution from an air-dried weighed portion of chitosan and a solution of organic acid, depositing the obtained solution onto a substrate and then holding the solution on the substrate until obtaining a film structure, wherein the moulding solution contains chitosan in form a salt of acetic or amber acid. After holding, the film structure is treated water vapour or vapour of 0.5 N hydrochloric acid solution until achieving film swelling index of 70-190%. The elongation at rupture of the film is not less than 20%. Described also is a method in which the film is put into distilled water or a physiological solution (0.9% NaCl) until achieving film swelling index of not less than 90%. The elongation at rupture of the film is not less than 30%.

EFFECT: highly elastic, non-toxic, biocompatible and biodegradable film made from chitosan, having curative effect when healing various wounds, during mechanical or thermal tissue injury in animals or humans.
