FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: water filter includes a vertical hollow cylindrical housing having a flange in its top part for mounting to a water tank, a cylindrical settling tank at the bottom of the housing having a drain tube fitted with a valve, a set of filter elements made from permeable wire material which are in form of hollow cylinders of different diameter and are fitted with spacing inside the housing such that the fineness of purification of each of the filter elements varies from the axis of the filter to the periphery from 75 mcm to 5 mcm. The space inside the smallest of the filter elements forms the receiving chamber of the filter which is linked to the inside of the settling tank, and the space between the outer cylindrical surface of the biggest filter element and the side wall of the housing forms the outlet chamber of the filter. One more pipes are mounted in the side wall of the housing, said pipes being meant for connecting clean water consumers to the filter, and there is a plugged opening in the lower part of the settling tank for mechanical cleaning of the inside of the settling tank.

EFFECT: longer service life of filter elements and high rate of filtration.
