FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: starting fuel 4 undergoes preliminary thermal decomposition in a small device 3 without access to oxygen at different temperatures within a given temperature range and the output of coke residue per dry mass of the initial fuel at each of these temperatures is determined. Further, a curve of coke residue output versus temperature is plotted. Solid fuel of the same grain-size composition is then heated to final temperature in the working device without access to oxygen and output of coke residue per dry mass of the starting fuel is determined. The exact final temperature of the process of thermal decomposition of the fuel in the working device is determined by superimposing the obtained value of coke residue output in the working device onto the coke output versus temperature curve obtained in the small device 3.
EFFECT: invention increases accuracy of determining final temperature of the process.
