FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a liquid composition for maintaining long-lasting local anaesthesia, introduced in a subject and containing bupivacaine in amount 30 wt % to 5 wt % of total weight of the composition, sucrose acetate isobityrate as a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and benzyl alcohol as a solvent for said carrier. Also, there is disclosed a method of maintaining long-lasting local anaesthesia in a subject, involving introduction of the liquid composition to the subject.
EFFECT: composition according to the invention provides prolonged bupivacaine release without overshoot.
