FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves pouring of slab (3) in pouring machine (2) and its rolling in rolling lines (4, 5) immediately connected to pouring machine (2). In case rolling lines (4, 5) are stopped after pouring machine (2) or roughing group (4) of rolling mills in direction (F) of transportation of slabs (3), they are removed from transportation line (6) and then returned to it by means of shuttle system (7) in which slabs (3) are stored and heated. Device includes pouring machine (2), rolling lines (4, 5) and shuttle system (7). Shuttle system (7) consists of two or more parts (7', 7") located one after another in direction (F) of slab transportation and provided with possibility of joint independent movement across direction (F) of strip transportation.
EFFECT: use of heat of casting process and flexibility of combined process is achieved during rolling owing to absence of the need for its interruption at the stop of rolling.
