FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves introduction of the first type of metal powder from feed shoe to the first part of cavity in matrix forming the lower area, and introduction of the second type of metal powder to the second part of cavity in matrix forming the upper cavity and pressing of the first and the second metal powder with formation of compact containing the following: upper area, lower area and inclined side wall attaching upper area to lower area. At that, boundary surface between upper area and lower area includes at least one separation plane that is perpendicular to central axial pressing line.
EFFECT: improving operating characteristics of cutting tool.
