FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for analysis of high-temperature plasma and to feed gas-discharge chambers of "plasma focus"-type. Proposed method comprises dividing generator final compression circuit into set of separate circuits-sections connected in series to adjust shape and magnitude of output voltage via time shift of voltage generation in every circuit-section relative to adjacent section. Known current pulse generator comprises blast-type current peaker made up of sections connected in series between outer and inner current conductors. Proposed generator comprises explosive charge with initiation system, power supply and load connected to ends of inner and outer current conductors. Note here that every section comprises collapsible conductor arranged between dielectric jet killers and jet former with jet grooves on surface facing collapsible conductor. Note also that division is performed by means of electrodes arranged between sections of jet former. Besides, pulse generation time shift may be provided by either using different-thickness collapsible conductor or varying time of inner current conductor wall approach to jet former surface in every section.
EFFECT: possibility to vary output voltage shape and amplitude.
