FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for selective decomposition of nitrogen oxide under Ostwald process conditions, as well as in conditions with ammonia slip after platinoid mesh. Described is a catalyst which is a block with cellular structure consisting of porous ceramic oxide carrier on which a catalytically active phase of formula LaMe1 xFe1-xO3 is deposited, where: Me = Cu, Co, Mg, Ni, Zn, x=0-0.4, wherein the volume of transport pores with characteristic size 300-2000 Å in the catalyst is equal to at least 0.25 cm3/g.The invention also describes a method of preparing said catalyst and a method of decomposing nitrogen oxide using said catalyst.
EFFECT: preparation of an active and thermally stable catalyst for decomposing nitrogen oxide under Ostwald process conditions in the temperature range 800-1000°C and pressure 0,9-9 bars.
