FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to rolling wide hot-rolled strips, primarily from tube steel grades of X65 hardness grade. Method comprises smelting, casting to produce crystallised slab, slab hot rolling to produce strip at wide-strip mill stand with strip surface water cooling and coiling it into roll. To reach required mechanical properties, tube lean-alloyed steel slab (content of steel components in wt % making: carbon - 0.08-0.11; silicon - 0.25-0.40; manganese - 1.45-1.60; chromium - 0.10-0.20; nickel - 0.10-0.20; titanium - 0.10-0.025; niobium - 0.015-0.035, and vanadium - 0.07-0.09) is rolled at wide-strip mill stand at rolling end differentiated temperature of 770÷825°C into 6-16 mm-thick strip. Prior to coiling, hot-rolled strip is water cooled. Note here that cooling rate of coiled strip depends upon final thickness of strip and obeys claimed mathematical expression.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of rolling.
