FIELD: oil and gas production.

SUBSTANCE: pulse is transmitted along conducting pipe positioned in well borehole. There is recorded modulated oscillations frequency induced with a pulse in a device on base of resonance circuit in a hollow casing string as a measure of a well borehole characteristic. According to one version the device is equipped with a conducting pipe, an inlet connected to it for transmitting a pulse to the conducting pipe, with appliance on base of resonance circuit connected to the conducting pipe and with a converter. Also, the converter supports operative communication with the appliance on base of resonance circuit for measurement of a well borehole characteristic. The converter can influence modulation of resonator oscillations frequency induced in the appliance on base of resonance circuit at transmitting an impulse to input. According to another version the device is equipped with an appliance facilitating spread of a pulse along the well borehole with an appliance reacting to a pulse for resonance at frequency modulated as a function of a well borehole characteristic and with a unit for processing modulated frequency as a characteristic measure.

EFFECT: upgraded accuracy of measurement, reliability of device, simplification of design.
